The Toronto Pearson airport has by far the best services available among all the airports in Ontario. They have great facilities for families including children’s play areas, family washrooms and nursing stations.
If you’re into fitness, Goodlife Fitness has a 10,000 square foot gym that has state-of-the-art training equipment, a stretching area, and free weights. The gym has really nice clean change rooms with showers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hair dryers.
Any sudden problems with your health, The Apple Tree Medical Centre accepts walk-ins.
Pet relief areas are accessible if you are traveling with your 4-legged friend and the airport has therapy dogs! You’ll see them wearing a bandana that says, “St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs”. These animals are wonderful for de-stressing and relaxation.
There are also art exhibitions with really good Canadian art available to be viewed. And of course, a huge variety of restaurants and eateries, gift shops, clothing shops, you can buy books and curios and relax watching the airplanes land and take off in the designated areas.
Then there are the different activities you can arrange at this airport.
Just note that activity permits for all non-operational activities are required at Pearson to maintain safe, secure and efficient airport operations.

Airport surveys, tours and they even offer Greeter’s booth rentals.
To qualify for an activity permit, you must:
- Carry a minimum of $2 million commercial general liability insurance.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Fill out the application form provided.
Terminal operations must be allowed to continue unimpeded, therefore if your planned activity or event is to be in Terminal 1 or 3, the location availability and date has to fully be assessed. Permission for the selected dates may not be obtained.
Alternative dates, if needed will be suggested. The turnaround time for all requests will be at least 20 business days before the date of the planned activity.

The London International Airport has fabulous views of take-offs and landings at the Katana Café. This is a favorite pastime for Londoners who are interested in aircraft.
The pastime is so popular that London International also opened a dedicated aircraft spotting location just off Dundas Street, north on Creamery Road.
At the Ottawa Airport Terminal several art displays from Canadian artists are there to be appreciated.
Thunder Bay airport has the city’s largest collection of Thunder Bay branded merchandise. Residents and visitors shop at this this store for clothing, jewelry, moccasins, and locally mined amethyst.
Lakehead University Thunderwolves, Sleeping Giant Brewery and Fort William Historical Park merchandises are also available all year round. Not many eateries but those they have are excellent.
Finally, it’s important to add that Canada boasts the best airline pilot training in the world with very strictest examinations. Canadian licenses are respected around the globe and all pilots at Canada’s airports are world-class.
